Elias' travel sketchbooks were drawn during his travels to Italy, Spain, Israel, Egypt, Germany, the US, the UK, and Greece.

Elias' sketchbooks have been exhibited at the Gallery of the A&A Building at Yale School of Architecture in 1992, at the Athens College Theater (Greece) in 1994, and at the Jerusalem Theater (Israel) in 2002.
