Designed and owned by Architect Elias Messinas, this 175 sq.meter house surrounded by 1,000 sq.meters of land, at the lucrative area of Plakakia, on Aegina island. Plakakia has the benefit to be a 12 minute walk from the port of Aegina, 6 minute walk to the sea and still be quiet, surrounded by pistachio trees and open nature, and a view to the sea.

The house was designed with a Feng Shui consultant, avoiding negative energy flow in the house.

The house has been published in a number of publications in Greece and abroad. Lately it was featured in the Athens News and the BBC.

The house is fully furnished, it has spacious living room with fireplace, second smaller living room with TV and VCR/DVD, fully equipped kitchen (including built-in stove and burner, dishwasher, etc.), 3 bedrooms (2 with private bathrooms), 1 extra bathroom and 1 wc, 2 offices with separate entry each, two storage rooms, large aluminum openings with electric shutters, two telephone lines (one with ADSL and wireless internet), lower-rate electrical meter ("night" meter),it is well insulated, has solar water heater, water cictern with the ability to either water the garden and/or the house (approx. 30 cubic meters of water), central heating (oil), and more.

A short description of the house:

Nahmia-Messinas residence,  
Plakakia, island of Aegina, Greece 

 
A private resiedence, located in a prime land plot in the Plakakia area of the island of Aegina in Greece. The house will be used as a summer house, with an option for use all year.

Design approach 
Due to permit restrictions, the house is designed in two levels: the ground level with the public rooms (living, kitchen, dinning, wc) and the basement with all the bedrooms (master, children, guest, clinic, office) in a total of 170 sq.m. The basement rooms receive full windows by use of the immediate landscaping.

Concerning the relationship of the house to the surrounding land, the house opens with wide verandas, that are designed as extension of the interior spaces of the house.

Concerning the materials, the house resembles the existing house on the plot in terms of materials, exterior finishes and exterior colors: raw exposed concrete, plaster, and stone masonry base and landscaping walls.
