SYNAGOGUE OF VOLOS
Interior of the synagogue of Volos.
Historical Data:  It was originally built in 1865.  It suffered serious damages during World War II and it was rebuilt in 1945 with contributions from the American Joint Distribution Committee.  The synagogue was destoryed in 1957 due to an earthquake and it was rebuilt once again in 1960.  
Area/Capacity:   150 sq. m./ 250 persons  
Actual Condition:  It is maintained by the Jewish Community of Volos and is in very good condition.  
Necessary Restoration Works:  None  
Estimated Cost:   None 

CEMETERY OF VOLOS
Part of the cemetery of Volos
Historical Data:  The cemetery of Volos was established in the '70s.  It contains some tombstones from the old cemetery dating back to the early 19th century. 
Area/Capacity:   4,700 sq. m. 
Actual Condition:  It is maintained in relatively good condition by the local Jewish community. 
Necessary Restoration Works:  Preservation works are needed for the oldest of the tombstones. 
Estimated Cost:   8 million drs. ($23,000 US)
