Kol haKEHILA is in
the process of creating a special web site for the European
Day of Jewish Culture in Greece. This site will be open to the numerous
visitors from Israel, Greece, Europe, the United States, Japan, and Australia,
who regularly visit the Kol haKEHILA site on the internet. The
site will virtually open the doors of the Jewish sites of Greece worldwide,
before, during and after the European Day in September 2000. The proposed internet site will be a show case of the European Day. It will help visitors prepare their trip to Greece, learn about Jewish sites throughout Greece, find which sites are important or interesting to visit, which books they can find on the Jews of Greece, how they can learn more on their lost relatives from places like Ioannina or Rhodes who perished in the Holocaust, and meet other people who are also interested in the Greek Jewish sites and culture. The site will offer maps of Greece, including all the Jewish sites throughout Greece. In addition, the site will have detailed historical information on every Jewish site with photographs and drawings, will offer links to European Jewish sites (museums, institutions, libraries, archives, etc.), and will provide contact information to all the Jewish communities of Greece and Europe. We are looking forward to having you join us in realizing this site, and hope for your support. We thank Freddy A. (Athens) for his "seed" donation to help this project off the ground. We are seeking donors or sponsors to help us finance this important undertaking. For donations and information please contact Kol haKEHILA and fax +972(2)563.6690. |
